Here it is again…the time of year that spawns many abandoned resolutions. Ditch the laundry list of resolutions and make 2013 about committing to  a “big hairy audacious” goal and keeping it.\n\nTell people about your commitment and why it is important. Ask friends, family and colleagues to help you stick to your commitment and be supportive.\n\nA couple of years ago, I committed to writing a blog to share my thoughts on leadership. Here it is still going strong. Last year, I committed to run a half-marathon which I successfully completed on November 28 in Monterey.\n\n\n\nThis year I am committed to giving my time, talent and treasure to Make-A-Wish Orange County and Inland Empire by raising $100,000 and granting 20 wishes.  I have taken several steps in the last 30 days to prepare for this commitment.   First I educated myself about the organization and said, “yes” to help  found the Women’s Circle of Wishes.   Then I agreed to be Team Captain for the Walk-for-Wishes event on April 27.  I also signed up to be trained as a wish granter, so I can meet with families in need and directly be in contact with them. And I am starting to tell everyone I know that I have made this commitment and hope they can help me achieve this goal.\n\nThis doesn’t mean I won’t try and eat more vegetables,  be more patient and get more rest, but I am 100%  committed to my commitment.  Tell us, “What’s your commitment for 2013?”
