I love books and I love movies, so really I love a good story.  My favorites are based on true stories.  I am particularly drawn to stories of the underdog overcoming great odds and the triumph of the human spirit.  Stories about a person or group pursuing, often at with extreme sacrifice, his or her passion.\n\nThe latest film to strike a cord with me and my son is Chasing Mavericks.  The story is based on the life  of surfer Jay Moriarity and his mentor Frosty Hesson and their quest to conquer the big waves of Mavericks in Northern California and the special bond they formed.  Rather than share my perceptions of the film, here is what my 10 year old son said he learned:\n
