A terrific new yoga studio called You and the Mat just opened in Laguna Niguel.  I can literally walk there from my house.   On a recent Saturday morning, I walked in and was greeted by their friendly staff.  The instructor was standing behind the desk and immediately commented on my yoga top.  “Isn’t that cute it has someone doing sun salutation across the front.”

\nI have worn, washed, dried and folded this top for two years and not once did I “see” this design.  I just thought they were squiggly lines that were part of the black and white pattern.  She saw it immediately.\n\nIn business we don’t always see what’s right in front of us either.  Sometimes it’s because we chose not to see it, but most often we are so buried in the weeds of doing the work that we don’t take the time to look up and explore or discover what’s before us.  We don’t question. We keep moving but not seeing what’s in front of us.\n\nThis is particularly true at the highest levels of an organization.  That’s why it’s so important to collaborate and invite people to help you see your business from different perspecctives.  Leaders that engage their employees and peer groups  in this way achieve greater results and success.
