On May 13, 2010, Orangewood Children’s Foundation, lead agency of the Orange County Capacity Building Program (OCCBP), announced the sub-award recipients of its competitive application process. The sub-awards are provided through a two-year Federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Strengthening Communities Fund.

\n\nWhat is the Orange County Capacity Building Program?\n\nThe Orange County Capacity Building Program (OCCBP) is a partnership between Orangewood Children’s Foundation, CONNECT, Children and Families Commission of Orange County, Families and Communities Together (FaCT), Orange County Workforce Investment Board and Volunteer Center of Orange County, that has received a Federal grant from the Strengthening Communities Fund made possible through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). OCCBP will provide capacity building to local community and faith-based organizations through customized workshops, one-on-one technical assistance, learning groups and financial assistance under 3 tiers. The OCCBP is designed to increase an organization’s ability to provide workforce, job readiness and support services to low-income families and individuals.\n\nFree Capacity Building Workshops\n\nFaith and community-based organizations meeting certain eligibility requirements are invited to participate in free capacity building workshops, provided by the Orange County Capacity Building Program (OCCBP). Organizations must be located in Orange County and providing job readiness, workforce development, or support services to low income individuals or families in at least one of these eight targeted Orange County cities:\n
