Taller San Jose, based in Orange County, has recently engaged Janine McDonald  in affiliation with OneOC to facilitate a series of leadership workshops for their management team. Taller San Jose is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to giving troubled young adults a way out of poverty by providing training classes and valuable life skills.\n\nThrough personal experiences, founder Sister Eileen McNerney had the revelation that poverty was the biggest barrier to advancement for those undereducated. In 1995 , she created a job training and educational center and named it Taller San Jose after the Saint Joseph- the patron saint of workers.\n\nTaller San Jose provides 16-week long training classes in the adminstrative, medical, and construction industries. Students of these courses are thoroughly trained in industry terminology, equipment, and safety practices. Each student participates in mock interviews to prepare for job placment and is credited with 5 community college credits once the program is completed.\n\nTaller San Jose has helped over 4,000 high-risk young adults since its founding in 1995. 81% of all their students move onto full time employment or enroll into a community college upon graduation.\n\nFor more information on Taller San Jose’s mission: www.tallersanjose.org
