The Volunteer Center of Orange is offering a new leadership development program called Leadership@Work for Executive Directors in the nonprofit sector facilitated by Janine McDonald.    A grant from American Express provided scholarships  for emerging leaders to attend the program.    In a time where resources continue to be tight, community leaders jumped at the chance for professional development that wasn’t going to hit their bottom line.\n\nThe foundational theories to transforming nonprofit leadership, are based on Jim Collins work in Good to Great: Social Sector.   Participants will attend 6 workshops as well as receive personal assessment and coaching as part of their experience.  An added benefit is the opportunity to interact with their peers to share best practices, problem solve common issues and expand their professional network.\n\nThe program is designed to help nonprofit leaders dramatically increase their organization’s ability to achieve challenging goals.   Participants will:\n

    \n

  • Create a visionary goal that represents progress toward organizational greatness.
  • \n

  • Create a personal action plan that identifies new behaviors necessary to help the organization achieve its visionary goal.
  • \n

  • Make measurable progress towards achieving the organization’s visionary goal.
